How to get to Hollow Knight Silksong Mount Fay

How do you get to Mount Fay in Silksong? The darkened, snowy peaks of Pharloom's gargantuan climb are especially dangerous and certainly not for an ill-equipped pilgrim. Descructable terrain can quickly impede your progress, and without the right gear unlocked, you might spend too much time ascending a mountain that will soon force you to turn back. Here's how to reach Silksong's Mount Fay location and info on the dangers ahead.

The journey ahead is long, and when one wrong jump can end your ascent in seconds, time spent preparing is time saved down the line. Likewise, you can make the journey a little easier by upgrading Needle because, well, dealing more damage in Hollow Knight Silksong reduces the chances of taking more damage.

Reaching Mount Fay in Silksong means going through The Slab, the only area connected to the zone. You'll wind up in The Slab if you're captured by a Wardenfly in areas like Bilewater, but you can make your own way there by heading west through the Choral Chambers.

The Slab is a prison that itself stems from the Choral Chambers of the Citadel. An alternative route to The Slab involves accessing it via the Choral Chambers by using the Key of Apostate.

Once you've successfully broken out of (or into) The Slab, you should have unlimited access to the area. Simply head to the bottom, then head west to find the entrance to Mount Fay. There's a bench on the long stretch east of the entrance, so take a seat there to avoid the long walk back when you inevitably botch the first jump.

Mount Fay is where you'll find the prized Silksong Double Jump ability, known as the Faydown Cloak. Yes, it does exist. While not a necessary skill, it can make the secret Silksong Act 3 section quite a bit easier.

Bear in mind that Mount Fay houses Silksong's toughest platforming challenges. Not only will you have to make dozens of treacherous jumps, glides, grapples, and swings without error, but you'll also have to perform each leap of faith quickly. There's little time to think.

The brisk climate of Mount Fay, like the outer areas of The Slab, is perilously cold, causing Hornet to take chill damage if she strays from the warmth of a campfire or torch for too long.

Making the trip up Mount Fay requires virtually every platforming mechanic you can learn on your journey: the Silksong Dash, the Glide ability from the Flexible Spines quest, the Wall Jump, and quite a few more. Unlocking some extra health with Silksong Mask Shards can help you withstand the cold a little longer, but that's about all the respite you can expect.

Once you're ready to test your resolve, head on down through the The Slab and over to the cold, dark range of Mount Fay.
