Co-op space shooter Jump Space reveals roadmap and a price I can't quite believe
There are endless videogames set in space. To break the fourth wall a little, this is the fourth I've written about today. Whether you're after an MMO, an FPS, or some good, old-fashioned strategy, there's a space game for you. Jump Space is a first-person shooter with a twist: you're not fighting other players. PvE games are not a new idea, but Helldivers 2 needs some competition and this could well be it. Developer Keepsake Games has now unveiled a roadmap for the game, so we know what to expect after its launch in early access later this month.
Jump Space will launch with nine mission types, over 50 playable sectors, two ships, eight different weapons, and a total of 27 different enemies, split between ships and ground fighters. Chapter 1: The Resistance Coalition will also be available when the game launches in early access.
The second chapter of the co-op game will arrive after launch via several updates that will take until Q1 2026 to finish rolling out. This chapter, entitled Atira Strikes Back, will add an Endless Mode, text chat, a new gun, offline support, a new ship, an expanded story, sliding, and more. As a Titanfall veteran, I'm a bit of a slide connoisseur, so I'll be keeping a close eye on that in particular. For other players, I imagine photo mode will be a winner.
Chapter 3 releases after that, but Keepsake is keeping those details fairly under wraps. It promises first-person pilot view, another new gun, and voice chat, but otherwise we'll presumably find out more closer to the time.
You can read the full Jump Space roadmap here.
Keepsake also revealed the price for Jump Space, and it comes in at under 20 bucks. Is this the Hollow Knight: Silksong effect? It seems very reasonable for a game of this scope, even if you'll have to deal with the trappings of early access for the first few years.
Jump Space releases on Friday, September 19 at 7am PDT / 10am EDT / 3pm BST / 4pm CEST, and will cost $19.99 / £16.75. You can add it to your wishlist on Steam here.
