The Apple Store is down ahead of iPhone 17 event

In a sign of things to come, the Apple Store was down Tuesday morning.

Don't worry, however, it didn't crash. The Apple Store typically goes down the morning of a big Apple Event as it updates for the new products set to be announced.

And Tuesday is going to be a big day for Apple fans. It's a near certainty the tech giant will announce the new iPhone 17, in various iterations, at its big "Awe Dropping" event scheduled for 1 p.m. ET. (Follow Mashable's live blog for all the latest developments throughout the day.)

If you fire up the Apple Store site, it reads: "Be right back. We’re making updates to the Apple Store. Check back soon." You can also click on an interactive Apple logo, if you're feeling antsy.

Rumors have swirled about the exact specs, colors, and details of the iPhone 17 lineup. Mashable has the latest updates ahead of the rapidly approaching event. But whatever the iPhone 17 actually looks like, you'll at least be able to check them out on the Apple Store site when it relaunches later Tuesday.
