Huge Project Zomboid mod adds over 100 new real-world weapons, so get shooting

Have you ever wished that Project Zomboid's weapons were more realistic? Then you'll be happy to hear that this isometric zombie apocalypse simulator has an add-on which injects over 100 real-world weapons. That's not all, either. This massive, fan-made mod, dubbed ORGM Rechambered, also allows you to mix up ammo types, loading your weapons with hollow-point ammo and more. In short, if you know your guns, you'll be right at home. Right up until the living dead chow down on your flesh, that is.

Could this Project Zomboid weapon mod help you turn the tide against the legions of the undead? Will you finally be able to beat our favorite zombie game, roaring triumphantly as you stand aloft a mountain of motionless corpses?

Probably not, but that's what makes Project Zomboid such a joy to play. It's not a case of will you die, it's when. This game's reanimated foes are so numerous, and so determined, that you may not even survive to starve. With its permadeath mechanic, it thumbs its nose at every survivalist who thinks they're going to be the last man on Earth, and I love it for that.

ORGM Rechambered is a built upon an older add-on,  ORMtnMan's Real Guns Mod. It won't just let you play with real world firearms, you can also tweak them to your heart's content, with 40+ settings to play with.

The mod even factors in barrel length, with creator Fenris_Wolf confirming that it "Has an effect on the weapons weight, recoil, damage, and range and the time it takes to aim. This works on a 'diminishing returns' concept."

Weapons include the Benelli M3, Glock 21, Walther P22, to name just a few. You may even find a few of John Wick's favorites in there. Just don't go around trying to defeat the walking dead with a pencil.

I've yet to install the mod, and I'm a little terrified of doing so. As authentic as these guns might be, I suspect my chances of survival would plummet when faced with real-world weapon complications. The mod does let you dial up weapon damage, but that'd be cheating. Right?
