Upcoming Dune Awakening free weekend lets you explore every corner of Arrakis

It's been a while since Dune Part 2 hit movie theaters, but there's about to be another reason to return to the desert world of Arrakis. From September 11-15, you'll be able to Dune Awakening for free. It's a sprawling survival MMO which takes from Ark: Survival Evolved and Final Fantasy XIV alike. The free weekend celebrates the game's massive Chapter 2 update and its first ever discount price.

Dune Awakening has done free trials before, but those had restrictions on both the amount of time you could play and what content you could access. No such restrictions will be set for this free weekend, meaning you can play and experience as much as you want during those four days. Your progress will also be saved, so you can pick up right where you left off if you decide to buy the game.

The free weekend will launch just two days after the release of the Chapter 2 update, which will continue the game's main story and add a host of new features. You will be able to completely change your character's appearance, discover new missions in Harko Village and Arrakeen, and equip new styles and haircuts. You'll also find new dynamic encounters as you explore Arrakis' deserts. These changes bring Dune Awakening a step closer to becoming one of the best survival games on the market.

The free weekend will last from September 11 to September 15. You'll also be able to pick up Dune Awakening for 20% discount until September 22.
