Hell is Us has no map markers and no minimap to guide you onto the next objective, really setting it apart from most of the best action-adventure games. Even the HUD is fairly minimal, immersing you into the horrific setting to an even greater degree. You don't want a game like this to give you constant reminders that is just a game.

Taking the DNA of the best soulslikes, Hell is Us' combat finds a balance between the non-stop action of favorites like God of War and the precision of a game like Sekiro. Taking on enemies is risky, a challenge that might present itself at any point - and when you combine that with its high levels of immersion, it can genuinely be quite terrifying.
