Baldur's Gate 3 is a must-play, and it just hit its cheapest price ever

Baldur's Gate 3 is brilliant. Even if you're not a fan of fantasy, you can't deny the sheer quality of this turn-based RPG. From its unsettling tadpole-behind-the-eye scenario to its carefully-crafted cast of characters to the sheer freedom it offers, it's an absolute treat. But if you've been holding off for a price drop, now's the time to take the plunge. Baldur's Gate 3 is currently 25% off on Steam, the biggest reduction it's ever seen.

The discount, which runs from now until September 8th, brings the price of Baldur's Gate 3 down to $44.99 / £37.49. That makes this RPG a genuine steal and, best of all, it's had a wealth of extra content added to it post-launch.

That's not to say the game was woefully incomplete when it exited Steam Early Access. But developer Larian Studios has, over the course of a couple of years, delivered some massive updates, loaded with extra features. New sub-classes, new endings, a new (temporary) companion and even a photo mode have all been added. With the release of Baldur's Gate Patch 8, the game is essentially complete, so you can enjoy it without fear of disappointment.

Baldur's Gate 3's characters have been warmly embraced by the community, thanks in particular to some superb performances. Baldur's Gate 3 has even been modded into Stardew Valley. It's also won more awards than you can shake a squid at.

But, be warned, you will need to set aside a significant amount of time to play this title. Our own initial playthrough hovered at around the 70 hour mark, and Baldur's Gate 3 is so massively replayable, you'll hit triple digits in no time.  There are plenty of Baldur's Gate 3 mods to spice things up, too.
