Looking for an alternative to Escape From Tarkov? Then Arena Breakout: Infinite could be the game for you and, after an early access period, this free-to-play extraction shooter's full release is landing soon on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Developer Morefun has revealed that it'll arrive mid September, and with the game on over 2 million wishlists, you shouldn't have a problem finding fellow players to fight with or against.

Arena Breakout: Infinite is set for a September 15, 2025 release, stepping up to take on other realistic military FPS games like Delta Force and Escape from Tarkov.

It's true that the game had a mixed early access launch, but developer Morefun made some major changes to Arena Breakout: Infinite. Now, as its full release looms, the dev has underlined what players can expect from this version of the free-to-play game, which will launch with five maps.

"Every step has been shaped by one core philosophy: authentic gunplay, distinct visual identity, intense combat immersion, and a fair competitive experience. Every fix and update we've made has been built around this foundation," it stated via Steam.

For example, while you could use in-game currency to fast-track recovery in the game's early release incarnation, that won't be present in the final game. High-tier items have been rebalanced and some are only available through crafting.

Cheaters have been a problem for many an online FPS, but Morefun thinks it's got that in hand. It says it'll not only operate a zero tolerance policy, it will both restore lost gear and give a "comfort payout" to those affected by cheaters.

There are a host of other quality of life improvements too, including improved matchmaking. In-game you'll be able to cancel lockpicking, tie your keychain to particular maps and more. And for those who want to revel in their victories, there's an expanded trophy room. That's assuming your PC is up to the Arena Breakout: Infinite system requirements, of course.

Should Battlestate Games, developer of Escape from Tarkov, be worried? It has previously accused Morefun of plagiarism, which the developer rejected. Time will tell. We just hope Morefun's servers can take the strain when Arena Breakout: Infinite releases this September 15.
