What is the Grow a Garden Cockatrice? New for the Fairy event introduced at the end of August, the GaG Cockatrice is a highly valuable (and exceptionally rare) pet that has some of the best abilities in the game. If you manage to snag one, leveling it up as fast as possible should be your aim. Its money-making potential is off the charts.

The Grow a Garden Cockatrice is a Divine egg with a 1% chance of hatching from the Enchanted Egg. It's set to be obtainable until around Saturday, September 13, when the next Grow a Garden update will replace it.

The Enchanted Egg is a rare reward when wishing at the Wishing Fountain, which is available during the Fairy event introduced on August 30.

What does the Grow a Garden Cockatrice do?

When placed in your garden, the Cockatrice has the following two abilities:

• Silver Screech
  • Occasionally screeches, giving nearby fruits a chance to turn Silver, with a much lower chance of turning Gold.
• Venom Spit
  • Occasionally spits at 5 different garden objects. Fruits get the Toxic mutation, egg hatch times are reduced, and pets gain XP.

As with any Grow a Garden pet ability, the chance, timing, and applicable distance of the Cockatrice's effects will increase as it levels up.

The Cockatrice pet in Grow a Garden has an effect similar to that of other high-tier, limited-time, and exceptionally rare pets like the Dragonfly, Golden Bee, and Butterfly. These are pets that can apply the unique Golden mutation (or a similar universal multiplier effect) to plants.

How much is the GaG Cockatrice worth?

While we can't see any specific offers for the Cockatrice right now, especially with Sheckle trading disabled for the Ascension update, players are offering the Dragonfly, Night Owl, Kitsune, French Fry Ferret, Lobster, and Griffin for the Cockatrice. If you have one to trade, you can basically ask for anything you want.

Expect its worth of the Cockatrice to dip as the Fairy event continues.  Sell it fast if you expect to get another down the line.
