The Lenovo Legion Go 2 is reportedly set to be shown off for the first time at the IFA tech show, according to a mobile tech leaker. This rumor comes alongside a video posted to X (formerly Twitter), which reveals some of the key specs of this Steam Deck rival in action.

All signs point towards the Lenovo Legion Go 2, which is still only a placeholder name, being a big improvement over the original handheld. This puts it in a great position to be considered as one of the best handheld gaming PC picks in our buying guide, following on from the original Lenovo Legion Go.

This new leak comes via Evan Blass, who goes by the name of evleaks on X. Blass is primarily known for mobile-related leaks, but this leak covers everything he expects to be shown by Lenovo at IFA, and the Legion Go 2 (which he only refers to as second-generation Legion Go) is mentioned.

He follows this up with a video showcasing the expected specs of the handheld, which include an 8.8-inch, 144Hz OLED screen that includes VRR (variable refresh rate) tech, so it can synchronize the refresh rate with the GPU's frame rate. It also highlights a fingerprint reader,  detachable controllers, an AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme CPU, cooling technology, and more.

We've seen many of these specs already confirmed by Lenovo, but this video looks like a professional marketing one that may have come from Lenovo, suggesting that it may be due for release soon. Samples of the Legion 2 have been doing the rounds throughout the year so far, and we even had a chance to play with one ourselves at CES in January.

It's no surprise to see Lenovo potentially ramp up its marketing if it plans to release the Legion Go 2 in 2025, especially following confirmation of the Xbox Ally X release date. There has been some doubt cast that the Legion 2 will cost under $1,000 within communities such as r/LegionGo, but without any solid pricing leaks or official confirmation, it's hard to know exactly where its price will land.

We only have to wait a few days to find out whether this leak is accurate, with IFA Berlin taking place between September 5 and September 9, 2025.

If you're keen to check out some alternatives to this handheld, read our Ayaneo 3 review, as well as our AOKZOE A1X review, as each of these Windows handhelds is expected to directly compete with the new Lenovo console.
