Immersive sims are magical delights in the hands of an open-minded player. The only drawback is that there are consequences. Militsioner is no different. You've been arrested in a small, provincial town and your actions are therefore limited. You're not allowed to leave, you can only go in certain areas, you understand the drill. The big difference here is that there's only one guard to sneak past - but he's 100 feet tall. Thankfully, the developer has fixed some of his buggier mechanics ahead of an open playtest.
The giant policeman in Militsioner is no tyrant. You can sweet talk him, bribe him, persuade him with all your wiles. But his mood is prone to changing on a whim, so be careful if you're stepping outside your designated area or want to steal a little food to keep you going. It's a bit like if Godzilla was a cop who couldn't be bothered doing his job properly.
Part stealth game, part puzzle, completely weird, Militsioner is exactly the sort of experimental game I would love to see more devs make. With the open playtest now underway, developer Tallboys has fixed some crucial bugs stopping me from fully enjoying the experience.
First off, and this one was really annoying, the developer has fixed a bug where the giant could break objects when lifting you onto the rooftops. A couple of dialogue errors have also been sorted, although I can't say I ever encountered them myself. The ticket, an important item, can no longer be dropped, so you won't have to spend hours looking for it if you accidentally lose it. We've all been there.
If you haven't played the Militsioner playtest before, now is the best time to jump in. With interesting stealth, tough environmental puzzles, and a freaking kaiju police officer, it's unlike any game I've ever played, and I doubt I'll play anything like it ever again.

It's always a good idea to browse the best gaming monitors, too - you never know when you'll need those extra frames. It could be the difference between escaping from a giant police officer or not.
