FF14 Fanfest dates for 2026 are confirmed as Square Enix prepares to unveil 8.0

The FF14 Fanfest dates for 2026 have been confirmed, as Square Enix prepares to lift the lid on the next expansion for its critically acclaimed MMORPG. With Dawntrail now in the books following patch 7.3, attention turns to the future, and where we'll be going next. I won't spoil the events of the most recent MSQ, but there are certainly several big possibilities on the table, and the most juicy details are almost certain to come across the three locations set for Final Fantasy Festival 2026.

"Today, August 27, marks the date that the realm was reborn," game director Naoki Yoshida says in a new video message. "This year we celebrate our 12th anniversary - thank you very much! Final Fantasy 14 has made it this far thanks to our Warriors of Light, who liven up the realm through their day-to-day activities. Additionally, on this memorable date, I have something to share with you all. Check it out." That something is the announcement for Fanfest 2026, the grand three-part celebration of one of the best MMORPGs around.

As always, we can expect events in America, Europe, and Japan, and there are a few notable details. The United States is up first this time, on April 24 to 25, and one of the biggest requests from players was to not hold it in Las Vegas again. Square Enix appears to have responded in kind, although you will still need to be on the West Coast as it's at the Anaheim Convention Center in California.

While France was expected to be the frontrunner for Europe, we'll actually be in the Messe Berlin in Germany on July 25 to 26. Assuming that the FF14 8.0 name and initial details are unveiled in Anaheim, we can probably expect the first new job to appear in Germany, with the second coming at the Makuhari Messe in Tokyo, Japan on October 31 to November 1.

• October 31 to November 1: Makuhari Messe, Tokyo, Japan

"Our 2026 Fanfests will kick off major future plans, which we'll be rolling out at a whirlwind pace," Yoshida teases, "so keep an eye out for what we have in store. Once again, thank you all for your emphatic support of FF14 over the past 12 years. As I mentioned in the beginning, the teams and I would like FF14 to be a game that walks hand-in-hand with our players.

"We will remember our roots, and make adjustments where necessary so that each experience will be even better than the last," Yoshida concludes. "The development and operations teams will press onward with this in mind, and I'd be grateful if you could continue to support FF14."
