Fallout 76 Camp Revamp finally fixes the survival game's agonizing build tools

Fallout 76 was something of a disaster when it first launched back in 2018. Taking notes from games like World of Warcraft and Bethesda's own The Elder Scrolls Online, Fallout's foray into the MMO genre was initially plagued by glitches, unimpressive quests, and expensive in-game items. It's drastically improved over the years, though, even if certain features still remain frustrating. One of these is Fallout 76's building system, which is now finally about to be fixed with the new Camp Revamp update, due to come out very soon.

Fallout 76's Camp Revamp is meant to make things easier for anyone who comes to the apocalypse game hoping to build out houses and other structures as an easily customizable home base in the Appalachian wasteland. In the current version of the game, hunting down the item you're looking for in game menus is far harder than it needs to be and free-form building is too restrictive.

Camp Revamp addresses these problems by overhauling the workshop menu, so it's much better organized and streamlined. The update also does away with building placement restrictions while adding in a toggle that allows you to switch between free placement, quick snap, and intersecting object modes.

While these are very welcome changes, we don't know yet if Camp Revamp will also address another big building headache: restrictions on the numbers of items that can be placed. Hopefully, if this issue isn't solved in the coming update, it will be a priority for future patches.
