When is the Black Ops 7 beta? How is it that time of the year again? It feels like summer has barely started, and we're counting down to those cozy fall evenings spent in front of the newest Call of Duty game.
As the Black Ops 7 release date was announced during Gamescom ONL, the first thing on our minds was when we'd be able to get our hands on this year's entry in the iconic FPS game series. There's always a huge multiplayer beta, and 2025 is no different, with a full week of Black Ops 7 multiplayer beta action just weeks away.
The Black Ops 7 multiplayer beta takes place between Thursday, October 2, and Wednesday, October 8, 2025, and is split between closed early access and an open beta.
The closed early access beta takes place between October 2 and 5, before the preview opens up to everyone for the final three days. Both parts of the beta take place across PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.
This is a unique format for a Call of Duty beta, as we have seen the closed and open betas take place on different weeks in previous years. This means that those who don't have early access are limited to weekdays. Presumably, this is a move to encourage more players to pre-order, rather than waiting for the Game Pass launch.
How to access the BO7 early access beta
As ever, early access to the beta is available to players who pre-order the game on any platform.
Pre-ordering either the Vault Edition or standard edition grants access to the early access beta, while purchasing the Vault Edition also rewards players with a BlackCell Battle Pass for one season, an exclusive Operator collection, a Mastercraft weapon collection, an Ultra GobbleGum Pack for Zombies mode, and one Permanent Unlock Token.
Looking at the FAQ from last year's Black Ops beta, codes should be emailed to players or printed on the receipt for physical, in-store orders. Players who preorder digitally, meanwhile, gain automatic entry to the beta.
We're looking forward to the Black Ops 7 beta as much as you are, but we've also got plenty of unfinished business to attend to in the predecessor. You might want to finish the Zombies Reckoning main quest, or any other Zombies easter eggs you might have missed. Elsewhere, get involved in the latest BO6 events in standard multiplayer.
