New strategy roguelike EverSiege Untold Ages looks like a lost Warcraft 3 mod

Between Hades 2, Slay the Spire, and Against the Storm, there are plenty of great roguelikes out already. There are also a number of solid strategy options on the horizon, with Anno 117: Pax Romana and Endless Legend 2 fast approaching. EverSiege: Untold Ages, a new project from the studio behind Aliens: Dark Descent and Battlefleet Gothic: Armada, looks to blend both of these genres into something new, while adding influences from Warcraft 3 and MOBAs like Dota 2 into the mix. It's also just unveiled launch details during Gamescom and, better yet, announced a playtest you can check out right now.

EverSiege: Untold Ages is an action and strategy roguelike game that casts you as a demigod who must defend a mortal city called Bastion from waves of enemies. As you grow stronger, you can also attempt to stamp out your opponents by finally defeating the very straightforwardly named 'Evil Master.'

The game plays out over seven days, forcing a limit on what you can accomplish in the short time allotted to your mission. To stand a chance against the enemy, you must venture out to collect upgrades, strengthen the city and its armies, and discover elemental combos, either alone or in co-op with two others.
