Hollow Knight Silksong fans are convinced its soundtrack just sneaked onto GOG

Over the many years since it was first announced, the anticipation for Hollow Knight sequel Hollow Knight Silksong's launch has steadily increased. With the recent news that Silksong would be playable at this week's Gamescom, and tomorrow bringing the Opening Night Live showcase, the fervor surrounding Team Cherry's long-gestating project seems to have reached new heights. Now, as evidence of this, eagle-eyed fans have noticed a tweak to Silksong's GOG page that has them convinced the game's soundtrack was just quietly added to the digital storefront.

A post from the Reddit page devoted to the upcoming indie game details what could be evidence of an imminent Hollow Knight Silksong release date announcement. It comes in the form of screenshots showing that an "Unknown" DLC has recently been added to the game's GOG store page, the addition noted after user StupendousSilk1997 cross referenced the current page with a Wayback Machine archived snapshot.

The post explains that the DLC that just popped up on Hollow Knight Silksong's page is listed in the same format as other game soundtracks on the platform. Whereas a demo would appear as a distinct product on GOG, a DLC purchase like a soundtrack shows up differently, under 'References,' and matches the API of other game soundtracks on the store.

Whether the potential soundtrack addition is real or not, and whether or not it suggests a launch date is about to be announced, we should know more about Silksong this week, thanks to the start of Gamescom and tomorrow's Opening Night Live presentation.
