It’s no secret that Trader Joe’s mini tote bags have made a big impact in the past two years. The teeny-tiny totes sold out so fast the first time they launched, Trader Joe’s implemented strict limits on how many customers can purchase at a time since then—there were even mini insulated versions inspired by the original canvas bags.
During spring of this year, Trader Joe’s tried something new with its classic mini totes: releasing them in Easter-inspired pastel colors. Just as everyone expected, most of them sold out within minutes of opening, so it’s no surprise that the chain decided to follow up with another holiday-themed tote bag drop.
Trader Joe's New Halloween Tote Bags
Four brand new Halloween-themed mini Trader Joe’s totes are expected to launch sometime in September. That’s right: If you’ve ever dreamed of making your shopping runs a little more festive, these gothic black or chic monotone purple bags can soon be yours (provided you're up for waiting an hour or two in a line).
And that's not all: These tiny totes supposedly also come with a tiny price tag, retailing for just $3.
Though Trader Joe’s hasn’t officially announced the release of these totes just yet, an employee leaked pictures of the bags online, and the source has apparently been verified. Speculation says they’ll hit shelves in September (along with Trader Joe's fall food items), though they could drop as late as October.

How to Get Your Hands on Your Own Tote Bag (Before They Sell Out)
When the pastel mini totes launched in April, Trader Joe’s stores began setting out announcement signs a few weeks beforehand, toward the end of March. You can expect to wait a bit longer before your local store confirms its launch date of the Halloween version.
If you want to try and get the scoop yourself, call ahead and ask when and how your store plans to handle launch day. Most stores will have shoppers line up outside before opening. Some will reserve part of their stock for a second drop (and sometimes a third) in the afternoon or evening, so those who aren’t able to swing by in the morning can have a chance to snag one.
But remember, each store has complete control over how it handles the launch: Some won’t bother enforcing lines or limits, while others will restrict shoppers to one tote of each color. If you want to know how the process will go, call or visit your TJ’s in person to ask.
