Razer is set to release a new Pokémon gaming headset to a wide audience, and this one requires a big, toothy grin. The Razer Kraken Kitty V2 Gengar Edition headset is everything you'd want if you're a fan of the little purple menace but, until now, it's only been available in China. That changes on August 19, when this new Kraken headset goes on wider sale.

As one of the biggest manufacturers of gaming peripherals in the world,  Razer has earned itself several spots on our best gaming headset guide - you can check out our Razer Kraken V3 HyperSense review for one such example. This Kitty V2 headset has a simpler design, but what it lacks in features it makes up for in aesthetic charm.

The Razer Kraken Kitty V2 Gengar Edition headset is a Razer and Pokémon crossover edition of the Kraken Kitty V2. It sports Gengar-inspired purple accents, along with the character's outline visible on the foam inserts, for a look that will leave no doubt as to the wearer's Pokémon allegiance.

Specs-wise, it features Razer's TriForce 40mm drivers and a HyperClear cardioid mic, delivering what Razer claims is clear, powerful sound with 7.1 surround support for immersive gaming. Oh, and there are those car-like ears on top, shaped like Gengar's own, and one of the big reasons why the Kitty V2 is becoming so popular.

Although the Kitty V2 does have a Bluetooth model, this looks to be wired You won't need to worry about battery life if that's the case, especially by the RGB lighting on the sides and ears. Like other Razer peripherals, you can also control the RGB with Razer's Chroma software.

This collaboration is already available in China, but Razer is planning to drop these spooky cans to gamers in the US and Europe on August 19 at 8am PDT, although it's unclear how much they're going to cost. If you're interested, make sure to sign up for more information about the collaboration at Razer's website using this link here.
