Battlefield 6 developers have confirmed that the game's open beta, back up and running for a second test weekend, is currently missing Nvidia DLSS and DLAA support. The two AI-powered technologies for Nvidia GeForce RTX graphics cards are designed to either boost performance with upscaling or to improve visual clarity with advanced anti-aliasing.

Given the public comments made by the Battlefield 6 team, this is likely an unintended bug introduced when the game was updated between the two beta weekends. A big-budget FPS such as BF6 can be pretty intensive on your gaming PC's hardware, although the Battlefield 6 system requirements show that you don't need a top-spec GPU from our best graphics card guide to run it. An Nvidia GPU from within the last five years should be able to handle it.

Battlefield 6 comms team confirms Nvidia DLSS and DLAA aren't working currently

After discussion of the issue on social media overnight, the Battlefield 6 comms team shared in a post on X (formerly Twitter) today that the team is "aware of reports regarding DLSS / DLAA being unavailable," confirming that they will "follow up with additional updates as soon as possible."

Battlefield 6 comms team confirms Nvidia DLSS and DLAA aren't working currently but a fix is coming

A follow-up X post confirms that the "root cause" for the issue has been identified, with the dev team "working to have this resolved" later today.

For players with recent Nvidia GeForce RTX graphics cards, the absence of DLSS and DLAA will be noticeable. DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) uses AI to upscale frames from a lower resolution, boosting frame rates while minimizing the impact on image quality. Meanwhile, DLAA (Deep Learning Anti-Aliasing) is used to smooth jagged edges to make the game's graphics look cleaner and sharper overall.

We've confirmed the issue ourselves. Running the game on a machine with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card, only AMD FSR and Intel XeSS are listed as available "upscaling techniques" in the Battlefield 6 settings. Both DLSS, and DLAA above it, should have been available as options to select, as was the case last week during the first beta weekend.

If you're hoping to play Battlefield 6 this weekend on an Nvidia GPU, we'd imagine an update will be coming in short order to fix this bug. The Battlefield 6 release date is set for October, but this will be the final weekend that you can play the Battlefield 6 beta, so be sure to jump into the game while you can.
