Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card prices are dropping, and I love to see it

After six months of outrageously high prices, the cost of buying an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 is thankfully now settling down to a much more normal level. It's still expensive, of course; we never expected this flagship GPU to be a bargain, but the RTX 5090 price has now dropped to its lowest level in the US since January, and it's even cheaper in the UK.

As I found in my Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 review, this mammoth gaming GPU offers an unprecedented amount of gaming power. While I'm not going to pretend that it's even remotely affordable for most people at its $1,999 MSRP, if you want the fastest graphics card you can buy for gaming, this Nvidia offering is undoubtedly the top-tier option in our guide to buying the best GPU right now.

The problem is that this GPU isn't just expensive at MSRP, but thanks to short supply and ongoing trade disputes, the US prices for 5090 cards have been exorbitant, with cards often going for well north of $3,000. Thankfully, it looks like those days are drawing to a close. Right now, you can pick up a Zotac Solid RTX 5090 card for $2,399.90 from Amazon, which is a big drop from the $2,799.99 Amazon was charging for the same card in July.

Meanwhile, if you're in the UK, you can get an even better deal on an RTX 5090. Head to Overclockers, and you can pick up a Gainward Phantom Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 for £1,969.99. That's more than the ostensible £1,889 MSRP for an Nvidia Founders Edition card, but given that the Nvidia store is constantly out of stock of this card, it's a decent price if you want the fastest gaming GPU you can buy - it's certainly better than the high prices for this GPU earlier this year.

Be warned, though, this GPU is a power-hungry beast, and you'll want at least a 1,000W PSU to make sure you can give it enough juice.
