Battlefield 6 is giving you a new map to destroy in its second beta weekend

The Battlefield 6 open beta is going down an absolute treat with seasoned veterans and new recruits alike, breaking records and sparking delight in all who have been racking up the headshots on Liberation Peak (myself included). I feel like Gordon Ramsey, going from regurgitated liveservice slop to some good fuckin' food, feasting on dopamine with every noob tube fired and tank exploded. The second course of the Battlefield 6 beta is set for this weekend, and EA has prepared quite the banquet.

Last weekend's Battlefield 6 beta was only a little bit popular with players. Peaking at an eye-watering 520,000 concurrent aimers with change, what is expected to be one of the year's best FPS games blew past the record set by Call of Duty Black Ops 6 when it launched last year. Granted, CoD is free for Game Pass subscribers, but it's a promising start to EA's redemption arc.

Battlefield 6 isn't reinventing the wheel by any stretch. Rather, it's correcting course. EA chased leprechauns when it already held the crock of gold, resulting in Battlefield 2042's failure to balance the classic experience old heads craved against its modern bells and whistles. Regrounding itself, Battlefield 6 is finally giving us what many wanted all along. Now, as we head into the second beta weekend, EA has confirmed we're getting a new Battlefield 6 map, plus two returning modes from previous games.

Taking to X, Dice environment artist Daniel Crambrand reveals that fan-favorite mode Rush is making its grand return, alongside Squad Deathmatch. We'll also get to give new map Empire State a spin - forget about Bridge Constructor, it's Bridge Destructor now.
