This tiny Asus mini gaming PC packs a punch with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 GPU

A new Asus mini gaming PC has just been announced with a powerful set of specs. The Asus ROG 15 Performance manages to squeeze an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 gaming GPU into its interior, alongside a huge 24-core Intel gaming CPU, inside a tiny three-liter case.

Asus quietly released the specs for this new Asus NUC mini PC nearly three months ago, but this official announcement brings it closer to a wide-scale launch. Filled with those powerful Nvidia and Intel components, we're expecting this Asus entry to be a strong candidate for our best gaming mini PC guide, depending on how well it performs in the real world.

The Asus NUC 15 Performance has two variants, with buyers able to choose between versions that contain either the RTX 5070 or RTX 5060 laptop GPUs. The RTX 5070 version will include an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX, an Intel Arrow Lake CPU with 24 cores, and a boost clock speed of 5.4GHz.

Meanwhile, the RTX 5060 version will feature the Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX, which has 20 cores and can boost up to 5.2GHz. The design of the NUC 15 Performance looks a lot like the flagship ROC NUC 2015, although it uses a slightly more basic 3L chassis design that measures 11.11 x 7.46 x 2.22 inches (282.4 x 189.55 x 56.6 mm), weighing 6.87lbs (3.12kg).

The Asus NUC 15 Performance comes with two DisplayPort 2.1 and HDMI 2.1 connections each, with support for up to five 4K displays. It also has dual SO-DIMM slots for DDR-5 6400 RAM, along with two M.2 2280 slots for SSDs. Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 support is also included.

Asus hasn't announced what the NUC 15 Performance should cost, but it's already appearing on sale in Europe with some pretty hefty pricing. German retailer Computer Universe has listed the NUC 15 Performance with the 24-core Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX and RTX 5070 for €2,621 / ~$3,041.

Meanwhile, the model with the 20-core Core Ultra 7 255HX and an RTX 5060 is listed for €2,218 EUR / ~$2,574. Both models ship barebones, so you will need to supply your own RAM and storage. You can check out our best gaming SSD and best gaming RAM guide for options to install there.

These specs already make this Asus NUC one of the more powerful mini gaming PCs available for gamers to buy at the moment. Ditching the integrated GPU we often see in mini PCs for an RTX 5070 or RTX 5060 makes it a much more appealing option for gaming, and should ensure it can solidly achieve at least 60fps at 1080p in most modern games at decent settings.

Those prices may prove to be anomalies, and we'll have to see what the machines actually cost when they go on wider sale in the US and elsewhere. Either way, we'll be looking to put this new mini PC powerhouse through its paces in a future review once it does reach our shores.
