How do you get the Bushwacker in Grounded 2? If your archer needs a new bow, this one should keep them happy. It's one of a few free Grounded 2 hidden weapons up for grabs, saving you the trouble of searching for certain materials. You'll need to make some daring jumps, but it's worth it.

The Bushwacker weapon goes hand-in-hand with the Grounded 2 Gloom Skewer. Land a shot with this in Grounded 2, and the signature stabbing weapon will do even more damage. Here's how to get the Bushwacker in Grounded 2:

  • Unlock the Red Soldier Ant buggy or Spider.
  • Prepare for a fight against Orb Weavers.
  • Enter the Pine Hills biome from the south.
  • Scale the roots to climb the bush.
  • Complete a tricky platforming section.
  • Land on the Bushwacker location.

The closer you get to the Bushwacker weapon, the more fearsome foes you'll have to face. These are on tight walkways as you travel up the Pine Hills bush. One wrong move can have you fall to your death.

You won't need any specific equipment or upgrades aside from a Buggy to grab this, though, so a good sprint might be all you need. Still, it doesn't hurt to come prepared with the following:

  • Required:
    • Red Soldier Ant or Spider buggy
  • Recommended:
    • Bandges
    • Spider Buggy (to avoid the fights and webs)
    • Dandelions

Find the bush entrance

While many routes through the Pine Hill bush can land you close to the Bushwacker weapon, finding a way into the area is a whole other story. It's found closer to the southern tip, just east of what looks like a butterfly feeding table on the map. We recommend starting your journey there.

Climb the sun-kissed root by the tunnel entrance and clear the dead roots with your Red Soldier Ant to open the way forward. Now's the time to swap your Ant Buggy for your Spider Buggy if you want an easier time with the webs and arachnids inside.

The path over branches to the Bushwacker in Grounded 2.

The route to the weapon

Follow the route into the bush. Take the root to your left and climb up, hopping onto the criss-crossing root on your left, then climbing up the next root on your left. It's a lot of left turns, yes.

This root should branch quite quickly, with an O.R.C. Blue Butterfly blocking the fork. Take the left path, and the route will take you into the sun and back into the bush again.

At the next fork, take a right and you'll soon spot a web path bridging the gap to the next root. A spider Buggy can walk over these no problem, but you can do a running jump with a Red Soldier Ant to avoid the worst of it.

After the web, follow the root to the left and into the next area. Clear the next web (beware the Orb Weaver) and take a right. Now you have two choices: either hop onto the vertical root and its horizontal shoot to reach the next, or follow it around slightly and use the next shoot to make the same jump. You may have another Orb Weaver to deal with here.

Tackle the spider however you want, then continue left along the root to the top. If you don't want to deal with another web, walk along the right branch and use the shoot on your right like you did the last to clear the jump onto the orange leaf ahead.

For the safer route, head left instead around the root. Cross the web bridge and then take the right turn down the root to emerge right by the orange leaf. A tiny jump is all you need.

Either way, stick the landing and you'll find the Bushwacker inside the precariously perched treasure chest.

Is the Grounded 2 Bushwacker good?

With the powerful Bushwacker bow now in your possession, you're in a perfect position to take on flying enemies like Mosquitos, Butterflies, and any more pesky O.R.C. bees you might come across.

Being a Grade 2 weapon, the Bushwacker's stats aren't worth shouting about. But as freebies go, it's a pretty great upgrade you can get while you search for Lingdonberry Leather.

Its Stabbing Resistance debuff means any other pokes and prods your friends deal to your target will deal more damage. And that can only be a good thing. The Cheap Shot bonus lets it deal more damage to an enemy with full health, making it perfect for stealthy takedowns.

Looking for your next adventure? You're not too far from the picnic table. Head there and use the Grounded 2 briefcase code solution to bag yourself another helpful freebie, then use our Milk Molar locations guide to snag the rest.
