Best headphones deal: Sony WH-1000XM4s for under $200

SAVE $151.99: As of Aug. 8, the Sony WH-1000XM4 noise-cancelling headphones are back down to just $198 at Amazon — that's a savings of 43% and just a few bucks shy of their best price ever.

The Sony WH-1000XM4 noise-cancelling headphones originally launched in 2020 and have long been replaced with the WH-1000XM5s, and more recently the WH-1000XM6s. But honestly, the upgrades have been pretty minor each generation. If you don't mind not having the latest and greatest model, you could keep a whole lot of cash in your pocket.

As of Aug. 8, the Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones are down to only $198 at Amazon. That's a savings of 43% or $151.99 and only a few bucks shy of the lowest price on record. That's also about $130 cheaper than the XM5s and $230 cheaper than the XM6s.

Our pals at PCMag (which is owned by Mashable's publisher, Ziff Davis) gave the XM4s the Best of the Year badge of honor in 2020, as well as an Editor's Choice award. They're still a pretty solid purchase in 2025. They offer top-notch noise cancellation, impressive sound quality, customizable EQ, a comfy fit, and foldable cups that make them great for travel.

Sure, the XM5 and XM6 models have sound and noise-cancellation improvements, but are those improvements worth another couple hundred bucks? We'll leave that up to you. We think the 43% off Sony WH-1000XM4 deal is pretty great, though.
