Stormgate system requirements

As a long-time fan of RTS games such as Starcraft 2, Red Alert, and Command and Conquer, I've been dying to sink my teeth into something new for a while. Fortunately, the Stormgate system requirements are so low, certainly at the minimum settings, that just about any PC from the last decade should be able to give this early access project a whirl.

It might not be Starcraft 3 (assuming it's ever announced or developed), but Stormgate is shaping up to offer an interesting blend of sci-fi and fantasy in a post-apocalyptic setting with three distinct factions. You won't need the best gaming CPU to get the game running, but you will need a pretty decent processor, which older gaming laptops and PCs may not possess.

Here are the Stormgate system requirements for PC:

Annoyingly, the Stormgate minimum requirements are tight-lipped on the exact processor models that work best with the game, listing anything with six cores and 2.3GHz of clock speed. Taking that into account, we can only assume that an Intel Core i5-8500 CPU will be enough to run it, combined with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 GPU and 16GB of RAM.

Similarly, the Stormgate recommended specs state that an eight-core processor with a 3GHz clock speed is required, so an Intel Core i7-9700K or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X should suffice in theory. You'll also need an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 GPU paired with 16GB of RAM to play the game at its best. Overall, though, these are not particularly high demands, especially when you compare them to the best RTS games on PC.

The Stormgate download size is 15GB of storage space, putting it at roughly the same size as other RTS titles such as Starcraft 2. An SSD hasn't been listed as a hard requirement to play the game, but we'd recommend checking our buying guide for the best gaming SSD if you're still using a traditional hard disk drive.
