I avoid every opportunity to parallel park. I don't care if the next space is a minute walk further, it's worth it if I don't have to try to squeeze my car in between two others. I know how to do it, I've done it before, I just stress about hitting the neighboring vehicles, or someone laughing as I perform a 19-point turn. Therefore, I'd benefit greatly from better-organized parking in most places I drive. That's where Parking World comes in, passing you the keys to public infrastructure in order to build the most unique, efficient car parks known to man. Zaha Hadid eat your heart out, I've got a 20-storey concrete behemoth with several different one-way systems.

Fans of the best simulation games, city builders and strategizers alike will flock to Parking World. The obvious gameplay loop involves building your multi-storey and watching cars navigate its limited spaces, but Parking World goes deeper. You need to manage your staff, your plumbing, and your infrastructure. Fires will break out, uncontrolled if you don't have enough sprinklers, and cockroach infestations can cause havoc (and bad reviews).

Speaking of reviews, Parking World has accrued a Mostly Positive rating on Steam after a nine-month early access period. However, expect changes for the full release. Developer Binary Impact promises a new scenario, expanded customization options, enhanced AI for realistic traffic and visitor behavior, and refined gameplay mechanics.

In addition to offering engaging scenarios, such as small business owners requesting a modest setup or malls expecting gargantuan concrete behemoths, the full game has freeplay. Have unlimited fun in an open sandbox environment, freed from the shackles of corporate expectations. Build your car park, set your prices, and have unparalleled fun as you watch the chaos ensue. Unparalleled, get it? Like parking.

Parking World Steam strategy game: A car lot from new strategy and simulation game Parking World

Parking World looks like a robust car park builder, a full-on management simulator, and a deceptively complex strategy game. With finances, buildings, and social scores to manage, achieving success in the competitive world of car park management seems more difficult than parallel parking itself—and that's coming from me.

Parking World is available now for $14.99 / £12.46. You can buy it on Steam here.
