How to get the Grounded 2 Ice Sickles

How do you get the Grounded 2 Ice Sickles? While there are plenty of great weapons to craft in Grounded 2, you might not know that some brutal arms are available to pick up from the environment, ranging from a fiery stave and a spectacular bow to an incredibly defensive shield. One of the hardest to get but most rewarding, though, is the frosty pair of Ice Sickles.

Once you're kitted up to a decent level in the survival game, though, there are seven secret weapons ready to pluck straight from Brookhollow Park - if you know where to find them. The Grounded 2 Crimson Avenger, for example, is an incredible choice for defeating wolf spiders with ease, while the Grounded 2 Ice Sickles deal significant damage to frost-weak foes. Here's how to get them for yourself.

Here's how to get the Ice Sickles in Grounded 2:

• Gear up with the right kit for the Ice Cream Cart.
• Enter the Ice Cream Cart and locate the mechanical fan.
• Unblock the fan, and descend into the secret tunnel.
• Interact with the Ice Sickles, and defend them from a Scorpion army.
• Repair the Ice Sickles if you fail and try again.

Gear up with the right kit

The Ice Cream Cart is one of the most difficult areas of Brookhollow Park to explore, thanks to the constant chill and subsequent frost damage. However, with the right gear, you can survive inside for longer than you'd imagine. Ready yourself with the following items:

• Plenty of bandages
• A few Sticky Blazin' Brew smoothies
• Some Scorpidote smoothies
• Mitey Muffs
• Fuzzy Parka
• Fuzzy Mukluks
• EverChar Torches

We've found the best way to survive the area is actually to have enough healing items and to take the frost damage when it comes, so make sure you have stacks of bandages in your backpack. Healbasas work too, of course, but you'll need a lot, so bandages are the best method, given how cheap they are to craft. Whenever you're exploring the zone, simply let the chill take you. Frost breaks after a few seconds, resetting your chill bar halfway and damaging you slightly. Pop a bandage and be on your way. Save smoothies for when you're in a tougher situation like active combat, very low health, or, more importantly, the main event.

There are a few corpses inside the Ice Cream Cart who are carrying EverChar Torches, which can also be used to warm yourself up. In fact, if you have already obtained EverChar Coal from the Fire Pit, you can craft your own.

Enter the Ice Cream Cart and locate the mechanical fan

To find the Ice Sickles, you must locate the room with the mechanical fan. The easiest way to find this is via these directions:

• Enter the cart via the ice cream cone in the spill zone.
• Head downhill into the main area.
• Climb the yellow popsicles to your left.
• Ascend the copper pole.

Now that you're in the room with the mechanical fan, you must figure out how to activate it to reveal a hidden tunnel.

Descend into the secret tunnel

It's pretty simple. Just break all the icicles from around the base of the mechanism, causing it to move. This reveals the entrance to the secret tunnel, leading you right to the Ice Sickles.

If you don't feel ready for the fight, you can leave this area by descending the outside of the cart, but you can't get back this way, meaning you need to fight your way back through the path above. However, the tunnel remains open.

Defend the Ice Sickles

Interact with the Ice Sickles, and defend them from a Scorpion army
Inside this new area, you'll see the glowing Ice Sickles right in front of you. Interacting with them triggers a MIX.R-like event, during which you must protect the Ice Sickles and yourself from an army of Grounded 2 scorpions. A health bar and timer show the health of the blades and the time remaining.

Your best effort in completing this event is to have Scorpidote to hand and to keep dodging out of harm's way, while keeping a close eye on the Sickles and any scorpions that may be attacking them. It's a tough battle, but doable.

Repair the sickles if you fail and try again

Don't worry if you're defeated by the onslaught of Scorpion foes - or frostbite, you can simply try again. We recommend heading back to your base first to repair any broken gear and make more smoothies, but once you're ready, you can head back into the den. Interacting with the Ice Sickles this time repairs them before triggering the event, so ensure there are no normal enemies around as you do this. Repair the sickles, then interact with them again to start the fight once more.

Upon success, the ice around the dual weapon melts, leaving the Grounded 2 Ice Sickles available to you. If you're playing the multiplayer game with friends, only one weapon will drop, so fight it out over who takes this one, and who has to stick with some of the other best Grounded 2 weapons available.
