How do you get Grounded 2 Tier 3 Omni-tool upgrades? In a change from the first game, your hammer, axe, and shovel no longer require crafting from scratch. Instead, the futuristic Omni-Tool lets you do everything - as long as you have the right upgrades.
In Grounded 2 early access, you can upgrade your Omni-Hammer, Omni-Shovel, Omni-Axe, and Omni-Wrench to tier two with ease. Tier three recipes are then hidden, and no amount of resource analyzing seems to unlock them, but certain breakable items in the world require the upgrade. If you are desperately seeking the Grounded 2 Tier 3 hammer and other Omni-tool upgrades in the crafting game, here's what you need to know.
With Grounded 2 in early access, you can't currently unlock the tier three upgrades for the Omni-Tool. Currently shown as unknown once you reach tier two, these unlock recipes are set to be added in future updates.
Despite being required to break, bust, dig, or chop items already in-game, including Grounded 2 snail shells, we have to wait a little longer before we can upgrade our Omni-Tools through tiers three, four, and five.
According to the Grounded 2 early access roadmap, these tier three upgrades will be available in the Winter update, so in December 2025 at the earliest. However, we anticipate the update will more likely be released in early 2026. Tier four upgrades may then arrive in the Summer update in 2026, with the final tier being released at an unknown point, perhaps the 1.0 launch.
Though you can't upgrade to a tier 3 Grounded 2 Omni-Tool just yet, it's worth getting as many rare resources as possible in preparation. While it might be emotionally tough, killing beautiful caterpillars gets you Grounded 2 spine nubs, while defeating Ladybugs and Scorpions is also useful for picking up precious loot.
