Cheaters are the scourge of any multiplayer game. Whether you're teaming up with your paints or launching a solo mission against the world, coming across a cheater will put a stop to your fun like a wallhacking bullet to your skull. Even worse is team killing, where your teammates get mad for no discernible reason and throw your entire match by killing you or another teammate. Thankfully, PUBG Battlegrounds is taking swift and decisive action against cheaters, team killers, and more online degenerates, banning over 22,000 accounts last week alone.

As one of the first and best battle royale games to hit the market, PUBG Battlegrounds has established effective communication between the development team and players. While players may not be entirely happy with every decision made on their behalf, nobody can complain about PUBG Corporation's action when it comes to banning bad actors.

Between July 28 and August 3, PUBG Battlegrounds banned 22,039 accounts. The vast majority, 14,298, of those were for cheating; 6,189 of them for team killing; 1,080 for teaming; and 472 of them for abusing.

The anti-cheat team also published a list of all 22,039 names that were banned. If you can be bothered scouring through over 100 pages of in-game names, you might find someone who killed you previously, providing they had a particularly memorable name that you can cross-reference.

Hopefully, your PUBG matches should be a little less cheaty going forward, and your teammates less likely to turn on you in the heat of battle. If the worst does happen, though, rest assured the game's anti-cheat team is acting on your reports.

The developer also recommends setting up Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator to prevent hackers from abusing your account or using illegal software on it. If you want an added layer of protection and to avoid your name being accidentally included on the next list published by PUBG Corporation, it might be worth checking out Steam's two factor authentication software.

As one of the best multiplayer games, it's important for PUBG Battlegrounds to maintain competitive integrity by staying on top of cheating and unsportsmanlike conduct. If it all gets too much, though, you can check out our list of the best war games for a suitable alternative.
