As soon as there's a popular videogame, others are quick to create their own clones. There's Tencent's Tarisland, which feels very similar to World of Warcraft, and its more recent endeavor, Light of Motiram, which has prompted a lawsuit from Sony for being a little too close to the developer's iconic Horizon series. In the midst of all of this, co-op mountain climber Peak has also become victim to a rogue Roblox ripoff, and its developer isn't happy.

Aggro Crab has had a whirlwind year so far after their happy 'lil game about friendship, climbing mountains, and cannibalism went absolutely nuclear. Peak is, well, peak, and I've more than put in my reps of one of the best multiplayer games with my pals.

Oozing with charm, infinitely replayable, and modestly priced, it's no wonder Peak sold over five million copies within its first month in the wild, and is incredibly well-received on Steam. Naturally, the game's success is going to attract copycats, and unsurprisingly one of the worst offenders can be found on game creation sandbox Roblox. Say a teeth-gritted hello to 'Cliff.'

Peak Roblox ripoff: a deserted island with a crashed plane

Cliff is a complete recreation of Peak within Roblox. From the airport to the spawn zone, down to the resource bar, Cliff is as close to a 1:1 clone as you'll probably find. Creator PewStudio says that Cliff is "inspired" by Peak, which is quite the understatement.

The absolute worst part, however, is that Cliff has been filled with Robux-reaping microtransactions at every touch point, some guised as Counter-Strike 2-style loot cases. Do you want a Golden Apple? That'll be 129 Robux ($0.45 according to this calculator) please, mate. How about a Climbing Pickaxe that makes you use 30% less stamina? Get ready to cough up 200 big ones ($0.70). The cases themselves will set you back 29 Robux ($0.10) a pop, giving you a chance to stock up on fruit and other consumables ahead of your next run.

Peak Roblox ripoff: CS-style loot cases

Aggro Crab has responded to Cliff, and hasn't held back. "Tbh, would rather you pirate our game than play this microtransaction-riddled Roblox slop ripoff," the studio asserts on X. I would personally avoid getting on the wrong side of the group of people who made it possible to eat your friends. Just saying.

PCGamesN has attempted to reach out to PewStudio for comment, but failed to find any contact details.
