Blight Survival system requirements

The officially listed Blight Survival system requirements are unbelievably low, calling for hardware more than ten years old despite the fact that the game rocks a gameplay trailer with some seriously impressive graphics. Short of the most impressive upscaling or optimization on record, there is a possibility that the Blight Survival PC requirements could become much higher than what is currently stated.

For an Unreal Engine 5 title, Blight Survival should, considering what we've seen of the game so far, command the very best of the best gaming PC from our buying guides, yet the reality listed on Steam claims the opposite. The game's own developer has, however, clarified that the "Steam system requirements are definitely subject to change (and will very likely change)" but that actual minimum and recommended specs will be confirmed closer to the Blight Survival release date. Of course, we can only assume, therefore, that the current minimum requirements are either a goalpost or what gamers will need for playtesting later in the year. Unfortunately, we won't know for sure until the developer elaborates further.

Here are the current Blight Survival system requirements as listed on Steam:

Going by the Steam listing, the Blight Survival minimum requirements are shockingly low, requiring only an ancient Nvidia GeForce GTX 670 or AMD Radeon HD 7870 GPU, an Intel Core i5-3470 or AMD FX 4350 CPU, and 4GB of RAM. Generally speaking, if your gaming setup isn't already exceeding this level of hardware, you'll struggle to play most modern AAA titles and should really consider an upgrade.

These specs are so low that I can't conceive how the gameplay from the game's own trailer achieved a smooth frame rate that's clearly higher than 30fps, given the lack of stuttering, or reflected burning fires off of the player character's armor.

As stated, there are no Blight Survival recommended specs at this time, and likely won't be until the game enters playtesting later this year.

For now, the Blight Survival download size is slated to require just 20GB of storage space, though it's very likely this will increase once the game is closer to completion. An SSD hasn't been listed as a requirement, but we'd strongly recommend checking our buying guide for the best gaming SSD if you're running low on space or still using a traditional hard disk drive.
