Peak has only gone from strength to strength in recent months. With 'very positive' reviews, a 93% positive rating on Steam, and a whole slew of increasingly bizarre updates, the love for the climbing game has only continued to grow. While the flying disc was a favorite addition of mine - who doesn't love throwing frisbees at people - the more recent cannibalism update appears to have been a huge hit with most players. Although, it doesn't seem like everyone is happy about appearing as a roast chicken, if the latest patch is anything to go by.

If you've not heard of Peak, where have you been? Like several of the most entertaining and best co-op games, it has a pretty simple premise: you have to climb to the mountain at the center of the island you're stranded on with the help of your pals - or you can choose to eat them instead, totally up to you.

The cannibalism update dropped last week, officially allowing players to see and eat their pals as roast chicken, if the hunger you have to balance alongside injury management and an ever-depleting stamina bar becomes a little bit too much.

Luckily, for those who aren't keen on being sacrificed in the name of your friends' hunger, you can now toggle cannibalism on and off to stop yourself from being eaten, and from eating others. Fellow climbers are friends, not food.

The latest patch reads on Steam, "Glad you guys are enjoying eating each other! Admittedly, it's a BIT much so now that you've all had your fun we're introducing some changes to cannibalism to just make it a little less crazy."

Patch v1.11.a also arrives with some performance tweaks and crash fixes, including improved fall damage calculation, the ability to eat your friends kicking in at 70% Hunger instead of 60%, and a potential cannibalism deterrent for some, with Curse status now up to 10% upon cannibalizing (initially 5%).

Peak has been having an excellent summer since it launched, not only racking up a 93% positive rating on Steam, but also surpassing five million copies sold, less than a month after launch.
