Titan Quest 2 is suddenly out as Diablo's beloved Greek mythology rival returns

Back before Path of Exile took the stand as Diablo's greatest challenger, there were many other names that rose to prominence in the ARPG space. The original 2006 Titan Quest was a notable frontrunner among them, winning hearts and minds with its unique dual-class mastery system and Greek mythology setting. Now, almost two decades on, developer Grimlore has set the Titan Quest 2 release date. Or, more accurately, it's dropped the launch squarely onto our heads, as Titan Quest 2 early access starts right now.

That's right, Titan Quest 2 has just shadow dropped on Steam and the Epic Games Store, and you can grab it at a pretty big discount if you're willing to get in during the first week. Not only is the early-access release set to be significantly cheaper than its planned 1.0 price, but there's an extra launch discount on top of that. A successful beta earlier in the year has positioned Titan Quest 2 to become one of the best games like Diablo in 2025, charging you with joining the fight against Nemesis, Goddess of Retribution.

Much like the original, Titan Quest 2's class system lets you combine two masteries to form your build. Each one comes with a wide range of skills and modifiers, and you're encouraged to experiment and swap them out on the fly depending on the gear you have available and the challenges you're currently facing. It's a dynamic system that puts player control at the forefront, meaning you're less locked into pre-defined play styles.

Also in line with its predecessor, Titan Quest 2 isn't built as a seasonal game like many of its ARPG peers, but one that you can take at your own pace. Grimlore has focused on encouraging and rewarding exploration with plenty of hidden secrets, optional world quests, and smaller events and encounters that you'll run into about the world. Combine that with the meaningfully paced combat, and you've got a recipe for something that could create some truly memorable moments you'll be telling your friends about.

Now, Titan Quest 2's journey is beginning in earnest, as it finally opens its doors to the public. "By joining early access, you enter a world already brimming with content, challenge and mystery - but far from complete," Grimlore says. Its current plan is to build towards a full 1.0 launch by the end of 2026, although the team remarks that "as every hero knows, no path reveals its full length until it is walked."

Titan Quest 2 is out now on Steam and the Epic Games Store. There's a 20% launch discount for the first week, so expect to pay $23.99 / £19.99 until Friday August 8 at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm BST / 7pm CEST, or $29.99 / £24.99 thereafter. Grab it here.
