The League of Legends TCG arrives soon, as Riot confirms Riftbound release date

Riot Games has finally confirmed when we'll be able to get the League of Legends TCG in English territories, and it's placing some restrictions on pre-orders as it prepares to deal with "high demand." If the immense rush to snag the recent crop of Final Fantasy X Magic the Gathering cards is anything to go by, new LoL TCG Riftbound is going to be tough to come by, although the developer says it's "working towards increasing supply to ensure that players have reasonable access to the product."

Riftbound brings the characters, weapons, and world of League of Legends to the tabletop TCG format. Whether you're obsessed with one of our best MOBAs, a newfound fan thanks to Arcane, or a card game enthusiast looking to try something new, it's shaping up to be worth your attention. Matt recently had the chance to get hands-on with it in LA, and now Riot Games confirms that we'll be able to play the full thing on Friday October 31. The release will be accompanied by a range of launch events at participating stores, and teases that more is coming this year, including a limited-edition Riftbound x Worlds bundle.

Along with confirmation of the launch date, Riot confirms the products that will be available on day one. There's Origins: Proving Grounds, a starter set featuring Annie, Garen, Lux, and Master Yi decks. The individual Origins: Champion Decks give you preconstructed Viktor, Jinx, and Lee Sin decks. You'll then be able to buy 14-card booster packs to enhance your collection, or go big with a 24-pack booster box. To round out your collection, expect "both card sleeves and playmats featuring Ahri, Jinx, Miss Fortune, Volibear."

While it's offering a "limited quantity" of these for pre-order via the Riot Games merch store, the developer notes that you'll need a Riot ID to join the line, and warns that expected high demand means "they'll sell out quickly." As such, it's placing limits on each item, giving you up to a maximum of two booster boxes, as well as three of the starter sets and each of the preconstructed Champion Decks.

"We're humbled by the overwhelming interest and support in Riftbound from the League of Legends community and TCG players," Riot says. It emphasizes that it's working on ensuring there's enough supply to provide "reasonable access to the product," and that it is "prepared to take additional actions as needed" in response to market demand.

"We've been hard at work to get Riftbound into your hands, regardless of where you are, and we can't wait to see what combos you take to the dining room table, your local game store, or wherever your preferred battlefield is," Riot concludes. It also notes that preorders for the limited-edition Arcane boxed sets are set to open in late August, and mentions that a special Riftbound x Worlds bundle will also be dropping later this year "to honor the legacy and excitement of the Worlds experience."

Riftbound launches on Friday October 31 in English. Limited preorders will be available from the Riot Games merch store beginning Monday August 4, and it will also provide a store locator on the same day to quickly find the nearest location to you that's selling it. "If you think you're getting big news now, just wait until you see what we're teasing in August," Riot signs off.
