There's just something about collectables in videogames that scratches an itch for me. Whether it's monsters, mascots, or mates, I can't help but spend hours unearthing hidden characters or unseen achievements. Pocketpair's popular Palworld is just one of many games that's effectively captured the buzz of creature collecting, because there really is no better feeling than farming with your Pals. Except for fighting alongside them, of course, and Palworld's latest patch has just made one boss fight even harder.

If climactic battles are your thing, there are plenty of powerful Palworld bosses to tackle. But Palworld's new update has just made one of the more recently added raid bosses even more difficult to defeat. Like all of the best survival games, you can choose to build a fearsome combat team in Palworld with your Pals and face fights head on, but raids offer an extra challenge. You can summon raid bosses to your base by locating bits of a slab, crafting it together, and then placing it on a Summoning Altar. Moon Lord is the latest such encounter to be added into the game, which arrived as part of the previous Tides of Terraria update.

And now, an even more powerful version of the boss has been added to the game. With the latest Palworld patch, you'll need to find a new Celestial Sigil slab to summon and challenge the stronger Moon Lord. Just maybe test your team out on those other bosses first if you want to avoid certain doom.

A whole host of other improvements have also arrived in the new patch, including the addition of fresh fishing spots, increased swimming speed for some Pals, and a fix for the behavior of the homing sphere launcher.

Summoned Pals will also now return to the player's party after you die - great for when you underestimate the new might of Moon Lord, time will no longer be reduced when an overpowered Pal team sets off on an expedition, and opponents won't respawn once you clear enemy-built bases. It's quite a hefty update, so you can find the full notes about the patch here.

The Palworld Terraria update launched last month, introducing Terraria-themed Pals as well as a brand new dungeon. Crossplay also arrived in another update earlier this year, alongside several other highly requested features.
