Techland has delayed Dying Light The Beast just a month before it was due to launch on August 22, stating that it needs more time to make it the "best game of the Dying Light series." Still, a lucky few will be able to play it early before its new September relase date.
Dying Light The Beast is shaping up to be one of the best zombie games of the summer. But fans will need to wait a little bit longer to get their hands on it, after Techland has confirmed its "difficult decision" to delay it into September. The dev says it needs extra time to polish the game.
In a statement sent to PCGamesN, Techland says, "With just four additional weeks, we can address final details that make all the difference between good and great." Desired improvements include balance tweaks, UI, quality of physics, and making changes to cutscenes and player animations.
The news will no doubt disappoint fans, but there is a silver lining to the announcement. A playable demo will be available at Gamescom Cologne. Techland has also promised further updates will come shortly, including new info about the game's gore and the return of Bober the Beaver, so there's still plenty to look forward to.
Dying Light The Beast will now launch on September 19 2025.
