Battlefield 6 has just been fully revealed for the first time, and while its short and sweet cinematic trailer was an entertaining watch, EA still isn't ready to share news on its open beta or its full launch date. Instead, it tees up some of the narrative stakes of the game and confirms that a multiplayer gameplay reveal will be arriving next week.

I've got to say, I was expecting to see a little more of Battlefield 6 in this grand reveal. While it was all in-engine, there were no proper gameplay clips to sink my teeth into. Still, it was packed with everything you'd expect from a Battlefield game - jets, tanks, environmental destruction, hints at some level-altering set pieces like a bursting dam and a buckling bridge. It's all there, and hopefully it'll lead to Battlefield 6 being one of the best FPS games around.

We also get introduced to the game's basic narrative premise. Pax Armata is described as "a Private Military Corporation bankrolled by former NATO states whose agenda threatens to throw the world into global conflict," and it'll be one of the main factions in multiplayer as well as the main antagonistic force of Battlefield 6's campaign.

However, the big revelation of the reveal trailer is… that there'll be another reveal. A huge showcase that unveils multiplayer gameplay will air next week on Thursday, July 31. In a press release, EA says it'll feature reveals of "jaw-dropping maps" and a "suite of modes both new and returning."

After the multiplayer showcase airs, content creators will also be streaming live gameplay for fans to tune into. It'll also be interesting to hear their thoughts on the two different variations of Battlefield 6's class system.

The two things I really wanted to hear about today were when the open beta will arrive and when the actual Battlefield 6 release date is set for. While I hope we'll get official confirmation of both next week, some updated text on Battlefield's website does point towards an October 10 launch date, as this is when pre-order benefits will become unavailable.
