Forgotten new Silent Hill isn't dead, it's from "a small team making a big game"

It would be safe to say that there was a lot of excitement when No Code announced its Silent Hill game. Limited info has been revealed since that first reveal in 2022, and updates have been infrequent ever since. While the fast-approaching launch of Silent Hill f will certainly fill that horror gap, there have been plenty of questions about the arrival of Silent Hill: Townfall. But have no fear, as a new update has come from the developer confirming that its Silent Hill game is still alive.

As one of the best horror game franchises around, there are rising expectations for Silent Hill: Townfall, not least because it's being developed by the minds behind Observation and Stories Untold. Rumor and speculation around it has only continued to grow rife since the teaser trailer first dropped.

Fortunately, it looks like, despite the studio's recent silence on the project, work is still ongoing. Screen Burn writes in a recent blog post, "We're still working on it today. Still crafting a nightmare."

It's the first update for a while on the project, and sadly, there's no further information on release dates or on how the game is progressing. Screen Burn does say that more will be revealed "soon enough", writing, "We keep saying 'we can't wait to share more' and it's still true. We're getting closer and closer, but we're a small team making a big game. We'll be with you soon enough and appreciate the patience."

For several fans, it will be a long-awaited update with very little additional info than was already shared. But it's good to know that work continues, and that the game is still alive and kicking.  The update comes after the developers announced yesterday that they would be rebranding to Screen Burn as they reached their first decade as a studio. If this is only the first decade, the next certainly appears to be promising for the devs.
