Maingear just revealed the Retro95, a dream gaming PC for anyone who grew up in the 90s surrounded by chunky beige tower PCs and CRT monitors. While its exterior screams 90s nostalgia, inside, the Retro95 can be an absolute powerhouse, featuring some truly impressive specs, and once they sell out, they're gone forever.

The Maingear Retro95 not only features our pick for the best gaming CPU in the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, but it also packs an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080, our pick for the best graphics card under $1,000 (if you can find it at that price). Its chunky retro case, however, is a slightly modified version of the Sliverstone FLP01, meaning while this design is limited, you could create your own build using this retro PC case instead.

The base spec of the Retro95, however, is far less powerful and includes a Nvidia GeForce RTX 5050, AMD Ryzen 5 9600X, 16GB of T-Force Delta RGB RAM, a 1TB T-Force A440 SSD, and a 650W MSI MAG power supply. The cost of this build is $1,599.

If you want to take everything to the extreme, the cost skyrockets to $4,881 and includes the below specs.

Maingear Retro95
GPU Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080
CPU AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
Motherboard MSI MPG X870E Carbon WiFi
RAM 96GB T-Force Delta RGB
Storage 4TB Samsung 990 Pro
PSU 1250W MSI Mag A1250GL
Fans Noctua upgrades
ID-Cooling IS-67-XT CPU Cooler
Notes Optical Drive can be added
Up to three SSDs can be added
Three-year warranty upgrade

This spec is arguably overkill, even for modern gaming, but at just shy of $5,000, you shouldn't need to upgrade any aspect of your rig for the foreseeable future.

If you have some cash to spare after buying yourself a Retro95, all that's left to do is to check out our guides to the best gaming keyboard and best gaming mouse to round out your upgrades.
