Underrated strategy game Warhammer Quest 2 is being pulled from Steam

From the success of Space Marine 2 to the recent announcement of Dark Heresy, Warhammer games are having their moment right now. Over the years, we've seen dozens of Warhammer games hit PC, including several mobile ports, and the most recent to bow out is turn-based strategy game Warhammer Quest 2: The End Times, which developer Perchang plans to remove from Steam.

Warhammer Quest 2: The End Times had a decent launch on mobile in 2017, before hitting Steam in 2019. It serves up tactical turn-based battles in Warhammer's dark fantasy world. While it's not exactly among the best strategy games you'll find on PC, I'm nevertheless sad to hear that it's not long for this world.

Perchang writes in a recent Steam post, "Unfortunately we've had to take the decision to remove Warhammer Quest 2: The End TImes from Steam. We hope you've enjoyed the game!" The developer adds, "Warhammer Quest 2 does not rely on servers so anyone who has already bought the game should be able to continue to enjoy it."

It's unclear exactly when the game will be removed or why, so if you want to take it for a spin, you'll need to pick it up sooner rather than later from Steam. For those who already own the game, though, it's good to hear that you'll still be able to play even after the delisting.

Warhammer Quest 2 was ported to PC from mobile in 2019 to mixed Steam user reviews, with some noting that its mobile origins are plain to see. Still, the consensus is broadly that it's a solid turn-based tactical experience for those who enjoy strategically bashing monsters in dungeons.

In other Warhammer news, Creative Assembly delayed Total War Warhammer 3 Tides of Torment last week, stating that the expansion does not yet meet its standards.
