The above list features six of the best deals that we could find in the Humble "Great of Handhelds" store. These games are also on sale across regions, meaning gamers on both sides of the Atlantic can enjoy the discounts.

Two huge games in this list are Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2. It's easy to assume that most people may have already played these games, but given that they were released in 2013 and 2018 respectively, there is an entirely new wave of gamers who have since taken up the hobby, and may not have had the chance to play either game. Now is the best time to jump into either game, as both are heavily discounted.

Next up is Gloomhaven, a D&D-style experience with a huge non-linear story and challenging deck-building aspects, where combat largely takes place in extended dungeon sequences. As an added consequence to its difficulty, Gloomhaven features permadeath for your party, meaning once anyone falls in combat, there's no bringing them back into the fold. For a similarly challenging experience, we've also recommended Darkest Dungeon, which focuses more on a roguelike approach to dungeon diving, with a cool art style, but the two games are remarkably similar at their core.

Following the deckbuilder vibes from Gloomhaven is Marvel's Midnight Suns, which takes a closer look at some of the lesser-known comic groups, such as the Midnight Suns and Runaways. This deckbuilder comes with a much simpler gameplay structure, but that doesn't mean Midnight Suns is an easy game. You encounter challenging mob fights that require a tactical approach and huge boss fights that will test your endurance.

The final game we recommend is Rimworld, which just saw the launch of the Odyssey expansion. This sci-fi colony sim takes clear inspiration from the likes of Firefly and Dwarf Fortress and is still receiving incredible support almost seven years after its release

All the games we've selected work great on the Steam Deck, with GTA 5 being the only game with the caveat that its online mode isn't playable due to its anti-cheat system, but the story mode is playable in full.
