The AMD Ryzen 5 7600X3D, released last year as a Micro Center exclusive in the US, is finally getting a wider release. The 7600X3D could be a boon for gamers on a budget, packed with its powerful 3D V-cache tech to boost gaming performance, and it looks as though it's going to be priced well too

When it launched, 7600X3D benchmarks revealed that it outperformed some newer AMD Zen 5 CPUs like the 9700X in games, with its use of 3D V-cache being a big part of the reason. Packed with six Zen 4 cores, the AMD Ryzen 5 7600X3D ranks below the 7800X3D, its eight-core sibling, but its six cores are still enough for most gaming needs. What's more, it undercuts the 7800X3D, which is currently the best-value X3D chip in our best gaming CPU guide, as our AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D review explains.

7600X3D retail page on LambdaTek

First spotted and shared by popular tech leaker momomo_us on X, a placeholder retail page for the 7600X3D appeared on UK retailer LambdaTek. The page uses the name "7600X 3D," with a space, along with a price tag of £249.64 before tax (approx $336). It also comes with a distinctly different manufacturer product number, 100-100001901WOF, compared to 100-000001721 listed on the AMD website. The new product number could suggest that this is a revised model with a different stepping from the original 7600X3D, but we won't know for sure until we test the new CPUs.

Overclockers UK retail page for AMD Ryzen 5 7600X3D

Overclockers UK, another British tech retailer, has also listed the 7600X3D at a more affordable sales price of £269.99 including VAT (the UK's 20% sales tax), which works out at around $303 at the current exchange rate once you remove VAT. Overclockers UK is listing the 7600X3D as available for pre-order, although a release date isn't mentioned.

When the 7600X3D launched last year, it retailed as a Micro Center exclusive in the United States, with Mindfactory in Germany selling stock later. It was priced at just $299, a price that made it a solid option for budget gaming PCs, even if it wasn't expected to see a wider release.

The latter situation appears to be changing, and while the Lambatek price isn't that great a deal, the Overclockers price is in line with the original $299 US price. Given that the 7800X3D currently goes for £328.79 in the UK, a price of £269.99 for the 7600X3D makes it look like a solid budget X3D chip.

Either way, a powerful six-core X3D CPU with wide availability would be exciting, especially if it retails for that discounted price. AMD hasn't commented on this retail leak so far, so we'll be keeping a watchful eye to see if, or when, real stock with real prices begins to hit stores.
