Quick and Flavorful: Blackstone Philly Cheesesteaks Are Ready in Less Than 30 Minutes

Hamburgers and hot dogs are always a great choice for a cookout, but when I want something a little more exciting, I turn to Philly Cheesesteaks. Making Philly Cheesesteaks on the Blackstone is an easy way to get dinner on the table fast—like less than 30 minutes fast. All you have to do is throw sliced steak, onions, peppers, and mushrooms on your flat-top griddle, top with cheese and serve on a hoagie roll for a meal that rivals a restaurant.

What Is a Philly Cheesesteak?

The Philly cheesesteak got its start in 1930s Philadelphia. In its most traditional state, a Philly cheesesteak is a hoagie roll covered in thinly sliced griddled beefsteak, sautéed onions, and melted cheese (usually provolone, American, or Cheez Whiz). If you see it on menus throughout the country, cheesesteaks have additions such as peppers and mushrooms. As for condiments, mayonnaise and ketchup are commonly used.

What to Serve with Philly Cheesesteak

When enjoying Blackstone Philly Cheesesteak at home, go with a classic side such as French fries or onion rings. To balance out the meal, you can serve with a side salad or toss some extra veggies on the Blackstone to enjoy on the side.
