Grab a free Steam key for Neon Abyss 2, the new cyberpunk roguelike

The only thing better than a good gameplay loop in an action-packed roguelike like Hades 2 or Dead Cells is the ability to take on that challenge with friends in online co-op again and again. Luckily, that is exactly what Neon Abyss 2 serves up, along with a colorful cyberpunk world.

We return once again to the beautifully pixelated world of the Abyss, ruled by new and old gods. The stakes are higher, but that's okay because, unlike its predecessor, Neon Abyss 2 lets take on the dangers lurking in the depths of its 'cybermyth' world with up to three friends in online co-op. While it's still in Steam Early Access for now, meaning it's far from finished, time will tell if it can make it onto our list of the best roguelikes.

If you've played the original, you can expect similarly explosive run-and-gun action. Secrets and treasures are also waiting to be discovered during each run, along with fresh enemies and a new faith currency that you can trade for valuable items, or risk in a game of chance to change the tide of battle.

There are a load of different approaches to experiment with as well. From attempting close combat with a bat to commanding dragon-like creatures to breathe fire, every run introduces neat ways to conquer the Abyss - made all the more chaotic when you add your friends to the mix.

There's also an expanded roster of Hatchmon, which are small creatures you can raise and then bring into battle with you, a little like Pokemon or Palworld. They even evolve over time in abilities and appearance.
