Stunning city builder set on a dinosaur is like a Studio Ghibli Cities Skylines

I've always been a sucker for a great art style, and city builder The Wandering Village is the latest to catch my eye. To say it's gorgeously animated would be an understatement, but its Ghibli style is only the tip of the iceberg. You'll need to adopt a deep strategic approach to overcome great odds here - and an interest in managing settlements on the back of giant wandering creatures. Sounds like your cup of tea? Well, after nearly three years in early access, the full game is available for you to play right now.

With all the hallmarks that make city building games great and over 5000 'very positive' reviews on Steam, The Wandering Village has now launched into 1.0 on Steam. Set in a hostile world riddled with toxic spores and environmental calamities, this stunningly animated game sees you steer through wasteland hazards, build a settlement, and manage the needs of your villagers, all while riding on the back of a massive, wandering giant.

Your ride, Onbu, is key to your survival through these fungi stricken lands. But riding Onbu takes a village, and you'll need to balance meeting the needs of your people versus the needs of Onbu if you're to survive and thrive.

You'll maintain all the usual features of a city builder: expanding and optimizing your village, facing off against new challenges and exploring new biomes for resources, and navigating strange environmental hazards. I don't know about you, but I'm very excited about striking up a partnership with this big, friendly giant.

The 1.0 launch comes after several early access updates. Last year, Alex wrote about a huge economy update and how it added considerably more depth to the game.
