The Alpha Response system requirements are incredibly low by modern gaming standards, and exactly what you might expect of the spiritual successor to the original Counter-Strike.

You won't need the best graphics card from our buying guide to get Alpha Response running, and you almost certainly won't need to consider many - if any - upgrades to meet the minimum requirements. Best of all, Alpha Response isn't even a particularly expensive game to dive into, though the price and the game's requirements could well change once the game leaves early access.

Here are the Alpha Response system requirements:

Compared to your average FPS shooter, the Alpha Response minimum requirements are fairly low, demanding only an Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 or AMD Radeon HD 7970 GPU, an Intel Core i5-4440 or AMD FX-6300 CPU, and 8GB of RAM. All of this hardware is, essentially, more than a decade old, so very few modern and even entry-level gaming laptops and PCs should struggle to meet these demands.

While the Alpha Response recommended specs do jump up significantly from the base requirements, they remain incredibly accessible for your average mid-range rig. You'll only need a GPU with 8GB of VRAM, such as the RTX 2070 or RX 6600 XT, an Intel Core i7-8700 or AMD Ryzen 7 2700 CPU, and 16GB of RAM. Of course, these requirements are subject to change given the game's early access status, but we doubt you'll ever need an AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT or Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 GPU unless the game's developer 'Gooseman', releases some outlandish ultra requirements.

Alpha Response sits on the leaner side when it comes to storage space, with the Alpha Response download size sitting at 20GB for now. You won't need an SSD to meet the game's minimum requirements, but the developer does recommend grabbing the best gaming SSD, such as the ones we've tested on our buying guides, if you want to get the most out of the game.
