CD Projekt Red has finally shown off Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.3, and it launches July 17. The update will focus on overhauling the cars and driving experience in Night City, with expanded and new features to make the game more immersive than ever. I'm floored that CD Projekt Red keeps updating Cyberpunk, and these changes make me want to cruise around the technological metropolis all over again.

Associate game director of Cyberpunk 2077, Paweł Sasko, was joined by Virtuos lead designer Adrien Jouannet in a new edition of REDstreams to show off the update. With 2.3 initially delayed mere days out from launch, we've now gone fully under the hood with the newest version of one of the best RPGs of all time.

For starters, 2.3 will include even more twintone tech. This was a 2.2 feature that let you scan some of the cars across Night City, and take their paint jobs for future use. In 2.3, you'll be able to customize more vehicles and sports cars, bringing the feature to almost every car in the game. The techtone feature has also been expanded to include even more paint jobs, which gives you plenty more customization options. That's not all, though, as the update also brings techtone for motorcycles.

2.3 even comes with three new cars and one motorcycle, so you're not just restricted to giving your current vehicles a fresh look. You'll need to complete a few new quests to unlock most of these, though.

Cyberpunk 2077 is also getting an entirely new feature: Autodrive. This does exactly what it says on the tin, and takes you to your marked destination without you needing to press a single input in your car.

Once you finish the Delemain side quest, you'll also unlock their taxi service. Just give them a call, hop in, select your destination, and you're off. CDPR wants the world of Night City to feel more diverse and immersive, and this is the latest feature to do just that.

CD Projekt Red has also massively overhauled the photomode, expanding plenty of your character and lighting options. So if you love taking slick snaps of V and friends, you've got myriad new ways to do so.

Cyberpunk 2077 will also eventually support AMD FSR 4 frame generation. That said, it'll come at a later date alongside AMD's driver update, and you need the relevant hardware to get it working.

Cyberpunk 2077 2.3 update out soon

CD Projekt Red will release Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.3 on Thursday July 17. You can read the full patch notes here.
