Strong worldbuilding is often what separates the great games from the solid 7/10s, and during my recent preview of Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream, I quickly bought into its quirky recreation of 1900s Scandinavia - it felt like traversing a living, breathing city. It's on my must-play list for 2025 and, to celebrate its release, we're giving away ten Steam keys for the gorgeous new stealth game.

Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream casts you as Hanna, a young woman whose brother has mysteriously vanished. You're awoken by a knock at your front door, and confronted by a particularly angry police chief intent on uncovering Herman's whereabouts. After a swift escape into your apartment block's ventilation system, you're marked as a criminal and thrown on the 'must catch list.' So begins an adventure that I'm hoping is good enough to make our best stealth games list.

Once you're out in the city, each location has different pathways to explore, some of which lead to a swift escape, while others will land you in even more trouble. You'll need to think on your feet if you want to evade both the police and the myriad miscreants that seem pretty determined to find your brother - dead or alive.

Hanna is very much the star of the show, but you can recruit two sidekicks to help you traverse the industrialized streets of Eriksholm. There's Alva, Hanna's former friend and underworld coordinator, and the rough and ready Sebastian. Each of them have their own unique traits - Sebastian can swim, while Alva can climb drain pipes - and you'll need to work in tandem to unravel the machinations at play behind the scenes.

As someone who loved Dishonored and adored both Plague Tale games, Eriksholm is right up my alley. As I stated in my preview from earlier this year, I'm intrigued by the game's overarching story, and while I was a little worried that the mechanics themselves would grow a little stale, the world itself feels like one I'll keep coming back to.

If you fancy taking a trip back in time, we're giving away ten Steam codes for Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream - all you have to do is drop your info into the box below and complete the required entry criteria. Note that the giveaway closes on Tuesday July 22 at 7am PST / 10am EST / 3pm BST / 4pm CEST, so get your entry in before then.
