All THPS 3+4 secret tape locations

Where are the secret tapes in THPS 3+4? There are a few goals in THPS that are constant: smashing point scores, collecting floating letters, and finding the secret tape. These tapes are hidden in levels, often in spots that seem unreachable at first. You'll need to find every single one of these tapes if you want to 100% the game, and we're here to help.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 has given us a giant dose of nostalgia, with the skateboarding game taking a lot of us back to a time when we had nothing else to do but shred. Muscle memory reignited, we've been getting high scores like they're nothing, but one bump in the road has been how to get all of those pesky secret tapes. Here is the location of every secret tape in THPS 3+4 to make your journey to skateboard supremacy that much easier.

Foundry

In the first level in THPS, many will concern themselves with grinding the molten bucket before turning to the secret tape hunt. This is a fairly simple one: the secret tape is in the center of the room, just beyond the glass control room. You can use the quarter pipe at the far end of the foundry to gain speed, then the small kicker to catapult yourself up. Grind along the girder to collect the secret tape.

Canada

From the sweltering heat of the Foundry to the snowy climes of lovely Canada, this level is much bigger than the last, and the secret tape requires more work to get to. When you begin your run, immediately turn to your left and jump up to the snow-covered cabin, then onto the wooden walkway next to where the nosegrind around the horn goal is located.

Carry on up the wooden walkway until you get to a halfpipe. There is a switch you need to grind to the left of it. Once you do that, the halfpipe will raise, giving you access to another platform above. Skate to the end of this platform, ollie off, and grind the rightmost rail. If done correctly, you'll be able to reach the secret tape at the end of the path.

Suburbia

Considering Suburbia is a densely packed level, the secret tape isn't too difficult to find. Firstly, you'll need to help the Thin Man open up the haunted house. When inside the house, you'll need to transfer from quarter pipe to quarter pipe, putting you in the back garden. Use the ramp located here to travel up to the top floor of the house, where you can ollie out of the window and grind the tree branch outside, nabbing the secret tape in the process.

Airport

The Airport is an A-to-B level, beginning at the check-in desks and ending at the departure gates. To get the secret tape, you'll need to make your way to the end of the level, turn right, and use the grind spots on the walls to make your way up and along the entirety of the window. There are several quarter pipes and kickers you can use to gain speed and height if you're struggling to keep your balance.

Los Angeles

Los Angeles is the biggest level you've seen so far in THPS, and the sprawling nature of its city streets can be a real head-scratcher if you're looking for the secret tape. To stand a chance at accessing the collectible, you'll first need to start the earthquake to collapse the overpass.

Once you've caused the natural disaster, you can use the wire immediately to your left when you start a run to get on top of the town hall building. From here, ollie onto the overpass, then use the newly-created kicker to jump onto the skyscraper roof. Leap across to the adjacent roof, grinding the lip around the corner. From here you can ollie across, grind the small pipe, and collect the secret tape.

Cruise Ship

Trading the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles for the serene Cruise Ship, you'll find the secret tape fairly easily on this level if you know where to look - you don't even have to raise the ferry. When you begin your run, grind the high wire (the same one you have to invert) that runs along the center of the ship, jumping off at the end to land on the large platform. Use this makeshift halfpipe to gain some air, collecting the secret tape in the process.

College

It's back to school with THPS 4's first level. The area here is quite large, but luckily, the secret tape doesn't take too much work to find. Make a beeline for the opposite side of the area to where you drop in - look for the tall, thin tower. Head around the back of the tower and enter through the open door, where you'll be transported to the top. Catch the grind on your way down and pick up an easy secret tape for your troubles.

San Francisco

The tape in San Francisco takes a bit more work, although not nearly as much as saving Painter Neal from a watery, tooth-y death. As you drop in, head left, toward the hospital. Using the sloping walkway to go up a level, turning left again. Use the quarter pipe to transfer up yet another level, where you can use the lips of the buildings to grind across, where you'll find the secret tape suspended in the air.

Alcatraz

Getting the secret tape in Alcatraz requires a bit of legwork. Firstly, you have to free the prisoner by searching through five trash cans dotted around the map, collecting the key inside the last one, and unlocking the cell block at the top of the hill. This will open the cell block for various skate hijinks.

Once you have the building open, head inside and use one of the quarter pipes to launch yourself up, catching the highest grind you can. Hop off the rail and look for two open windows. The secret tape is located just outside of the left one, so get some speed, take a flying leap, and collect your reward.

Waterpark

The Waterpark is huge, and it can be easy to get yourself lost in the mess of waterslides and other, very skateable theme park attractions. To get the secret tape in Waterpark, head right just after you exit the first slide and look for the arcade. Next to the arcade is an open door you can enter, transporting you to the top of the Dual Boomerang Slides. Follow the slide down, getting some speed as you go. Get some air on the back end, and you'll see the secret tape within reach to collect.

Shipyard

A small but very dense area, the Shipyard can be a nightmare to navigate if you don't slow down. That's exactly what you have to do here to collect the secret tape. As you begin your run, head left, following the rail tracks on the ground, then take an immediate right down an alley. Enter the open door, where you'll be teleported to the rooftops. To your right, you'll notice an air vent; if you slowly ride off the edge of this air vent, you'll collect the secret tape on your way down.

London

You'll have to get high above the din of the London streets to pick up this level's secret tape. When you begin your run, head straight and use the monument to launch yourself up and to the right, catching the grind at the apex of your jump. If done correctly, you'll shoot off to the right and be heading toward a rooftop. Use the quarter pipe to spine transfer over to the next roof, then spine transfer once more to collect the secret tape.

Pinball

The neon mess that is Pinball is confusing to look at at first glance, but there are plenty of clean lines to work your way through once you get the hang of it. The secret tape is suspended high above the giant hawk skull located on your left as you begin your run. To get to it, go past the skull, near the wallplant the multiball target area, around the back, and you can transfer from the lower quarter pipe to the upper one fairly easily, then turn right and use the giant kicker to launch yourself towards the secret tape.
