2025 has been a year of surprise indie successes. Between REPO, Schedule 1, and Peak, we've had a collection of inventive releases that have found immense popularity on Steam. That last one has proven particularly well-liked, too, as Aggro Crab has now announced that Peak has hit a frankly astonishing milestone of five million copies sold, less than a month after launch.

If you're yet to play Peak, it has a delightfully simple and engaging premise. Either alone or with friends, you step into the boots of nature scouts lost on an island with seemingly no way out. All you can do is scale every surface possible and try to reach the mountain at the island's center, but it won't be easy. You need to find food, manage your injuries, and keep a watchful eye on that ever-depleting stamina bar all at once.

Peak is already one of our picks for the best co-op games around right now, and it looks like it's showing no signs of slowing down. Aggro Crab now says Peak has sold over five million copies, making it one of the quickest-selling games of the year. The indie extravaganza launched on Monday June 16, meaning it's hit that phenomenal milestone in less than one month on Steam.

Not only that, but the user reviews are also holding incredibly strong. As of three weeks ago it was a 93% positive on Valve's platform, and it still is right now. Given that the number of reviews has shot up to over 43,000, it's mighty impressive to see maintain that 'very positive' rating.

Peak's continued success is proof that in 2025, the market still massively supports unique indie games. When something totally different comes along and hits for people, there's no reason it can't be successful.
